It Is A Daily Struggle, Day 181

I am always fighting with myself between eating a piece of healthy fruit or a couple pieces of delicious chocolate that I have had squirreled away for months (they are in fairly plain site but nobody has noticed). Which should I consume? Which will satisfy me the best?

Tonight, I went for the fruit, a nectarine to be exact, but it was not sweet AT ALL so halfway through, I broke out the chocolate. Can you blame me???

I Took The Weekend Off, Days 178, 179, 180

My first photo is from archives - these guys appear in Disney World and will serenade as you walk by. They are so much fun to listen to and you can actually find YouTube videos of the group. There are usually five guys but the one who plays the baritone saxophone was ill that day. They asked my son to step in there with them and pretend he was playing. I have that photo too!!

Not all dinners can be masterpieces - this was such a boring meal but it was colorful so I decided to take a photo. Benton Flocke's assortment of meal photos really puts mine to shame....

Finally, here is a horse on a merry-go-round. I converted it to sepia and then bumped up the contrast a bit. I then applied my "old photo" action to it.

Ceili, Day 177

Ceili - 10/28/06-8/7/08

I am pulling a photo from my archives. I worked all day so as to catch up completely and then take the weekend off. While I did take a couple of photos, they are still in my camera - I cannot wait until they make a wifi wireless CF memory card so that I can just "send" photos straight from my camera right to my laptop!

Ceili was my dog and a dog who definitely had attitude.....lots of attitude....

Hydrangea Bush, Day 176

Here is another photo of my hydrangea bush. I read somewhere that burying a penny in the soil can change the color of the flowers but I have yet to try that.

I actually wanted to feature my dinner plate as today's photo of the day, however when I left the kitchen table to get my camera, my husband decided to rearrange the food on my plate to make it more "photogenic" - I felt that he really messed up my arrangement so I'm not featuring that tonight.

"Cora" And A Hydrangea, Day 174 and 175

My daughter spotted a baby bunny rabbit just outside our living room window. She is there, all alone and no signs of mom, every single day. She is the size of a baseball - we have decided to call her "Cora". We don't know if it's a boy or a girl but the name seems to fit. My daughter wants to adopt her and I've told her a baby bunny does NOT go well with two beagles...

The other photo is my hydrangea bush under which the bunny eats her three square meals a day. I love this hydrangea as it produces multicolored flowers.

What Goes Up....., Day 173

My neighbor on a trampoline! He had fun being my subject - I just wish it wasn't dark when I took these!

Why We Celebrate, Day 171 and 172

The first photo shows a really cool cloud I saw about a week ago hanging over the carnival - very puffy and interesting to look at.

Here is the reason we were able to celebrate Father's Day today - because of him, we are a family. I am very fortunate - we all really like each other and have fun together. I am blessed.

I hope all dads had a great day today. Happy Father's Day!

Ruby, Day 169, Dinner Bell, Day 170

Ruby's body parts are growing at different times - this week her head grew and she's a bit disproportionate. Last week her body got long - think "Slinky Dog" long!!! Three to four weeks ago her paws grew and before that her legs grew. Hopefully, eventually all parts will be in sync.

This dinner bell hangs on my friend's porch. When their kids were younger, they'd ring this bell to call them home. Now that the youngest is 20, the bell is quiet....

Lily, Day 168 (Yup, I'm an Entry Behind)

UPDATE - ORIGINAL PHOTO OF LILY PRIOR TO MY EDITING

Lilies from my back yard.

My boy loves to sing.....

Food!, Days 165 and 166

I am posting two photos from our parish carnival that ran from Tuesday, June 9 through Saturday June 13. Despite sporadic thundershowers, the "show" went on all but the last night where they had to close down at 8 PM due to a bad thunderstorm.

I wished I had one of those peanut caramel apples!!!

More Carnival Photos, Day 163 and 164

I thought I posted these last night but then my post disappeared and my laptop just shut down. So, here are a couple more carnival photos. I love watching the kids on the Galeon - a ride you'd never catch me on since I get very motion sick. The other photo is my friend - who cannot be returned or refunded.....

It's A Carnival, Day 161 and 162

Blame it on the Windows Vista Update but I was not able to post the last two nights as I fell asleep both nights waiting for the Vista update to first load into my laptop and then last night I fell asleep waiting for it to install. That's what I get for waiting until late in the evening to post.

Anyway, our parish had their annual carnival this week. It started Tuesday and ends on Saturday. Here are a couple of photos I've taken so far.

Amazing Storm Left Overs, Day 160

Yesterday began with an unbelievable storm in the morning. Lots of thunder and lightning. By last evening, we were left with this sky. This photo is straight out of my camera with absolutely no editing whatsoever. It was so pink outside that I just ran and grabbed my camera and started shooting away. I will probably use some of the photos for my Skywatch this Friday.

Armed For Allergies, Day 159

It's hedge trimming season - and allergy season. My husband is armed and ready to tackle both!!!

Tell Me What You See, Day 158

UPDATE - I saw a beagle and I also saw a sort of ghoulish type face with it's mouth wide open and I saw a bear but that was only after my neighbor pointed it out to me. She could only see the bear. So, it seems the dog/beagle and the bear are the common theme. I can make out another face too but only from the nose up. It sort of reminded me of the ink blot test and I wanted to share with my blogging buddies.

A few days back, I posted a photo of my son standing on our ginormous pile of mulch. As I was looking at the photo, I noted the tree in the background and a spot on that tree that had a limb cut off. I saw something there, actually I could see three different things when I looked at the "stump" of that limb. I'd be curious to hear what you all see and if it matches what I see. I even polled my neighbors and one saw something I didn't.

If you get a chance, let me know.

Solar Light, Day 157

One of the solar lights that line the walkway at our home.

Fun With Photoshop, Day 156

It poured all day today so I didn't take the camera outside again. You are all stuck with another photo of my pup. This time, I just played with Photoshop a bit - I did a black and white conversion and then added a little "snowy action". It was fun.

Catching Up Feels Great, Day 153, 154, 155

So far, my impatiens aren't dead yet!

Ruby and my daughter. Ruby is growing by leaps and bounds and I am fairly certain that she may be tipping the scales at about 11 lbs. We are smitten with that little darling of a beagle. She has fallen into the fairly laid back personality of our household.

A cluster of "pods" from the crepe myrtle tree planted in the corner garden of our front lawn. These will eventually become the pink blooms that will grace the tree throughout the summer.

Engagement, Day 152

My niece shows off her engagement ring. She will be married this summer and she found herself an awfully sweet guy. The diamond is from her grandmom's ring and her grandmom passed away last summer - what a great way to keep her memory alive.

Raging Waves/Hanging in Air, Day 150 and 151

The roughness of the Atlantic Ocean captured - I could stand and watch the waves for hours - in fact, I have but will actually plop my butt down on to the beach to enjoy the scenery.

I caught a bit of the disk action during an ultimate frisbee game.
