I Am Way Behind, Day 148 and 149

I cannot get over the color of my puppy's feet! They remind me of candy with the combination of pink and brown. I don't recall ever having a puppy with this color feet before. The pink does make for good subject matter...





We got 4 cubic yards of mulch delivered Saturday and we have LOTS of outdoor work to do over the coming days. My kids helped me out by getting the mulch where it needed to be. My son actually asked that I take a picture of him atop the mulch pile!

I am two days behind everybody else in my photo blogging. Being under the weather can cause these setbacks but I will be catching up and I will be visiting all of you guys too.

Puppy Arsenal, Day 146

If you have a puppy, this is only 1/4 of the supplies you will need! I didn't have the other 8 chew toys we have for her. Just like the boy scouts motto says, we are always prepared.

Fresh Veggies, Day 145

Our Memorial Day dinner was very colorful thanks to four different colored peppers - add in some shrimp, chicken, mushrooms, teryaki sauce, and brown rice and you have a great dinner.

I hope everybody enjoyed a wonderful holiday with those they love.

Time Out, Day 144

Puppies have teeth, many razor-sharp painful little teeth. Time-out is needed frequently when Ruby uses these teeth. Thank goodness I have an old playpen from when my kids were babies.

Kayaking, Day 143

Day one of Ultimate Frisbee was a success. Girls cleaned up at 3 for 3, boys won 3 of 4.

Tomorrow, they will play again. Thankfully, no injuries - just a bit of sunburn and sore muscles.

Ultimate Frisbee, Day 142

Ultimate frisbee is an up and coming sport, the kids tell me. Both of them are on their high school team.




This weekend is State Championships and their team (s) are favored to win. My daughter is on the girls team and my son is on the open team. Please pray for an injury-free weekend for all of the kids. If you look at the first photo, you will see a girl with blond hair (and orange socks) jumping up into the air. I spent Mother's Day last year with her in the emergency room of a hospital when she was knocked unconscious and suffered a concussion during a game that was played in the pouring rain.

I don't want repeats of that this year. However, I am unable to attend the games this weekend. My hubby will be doing the honor of being a chaperone...

Concert and Cat, Days 140 and 141

The marching band had their annual "Concert in the Courtyard" at school. It's not mandatory that all band members attend but a fair amount turned out to share their talent. My son is in the saxophone ensemble.

Riverbank, Day 138

I had a great place to shoot my photos from - totally unobstructed view. Here is the Schuylkill River. It is very polluted... but they row on it still!

Remembering, Day 137

Our city's fallen heroes, all lost in the line of duty over the last year and a half. I took this photo a couple of months ago and as we approach Memorial Day here in our country, it made me think of these police officers.

Mellow Yellow, Days 135 and 136

Even though I had gone to the Atlantic Coast yesterday, because of the horrendously thick fog that prevented me from even SEEING the ocean even though our hotel overlooked the ocean, I took not one photo.

But, I did see a really interesting pair of socks and I also captured a moment of team bonding just before an ultimate frisbee game today.

Getaway, Day 134

Yes, I took lots of photos of weeds the other day. But, I have to admit that when you get up close and personal with them, they are really not all that bad.

I promise I will be back to visit my fellow bloggers tomorrow. I am heading out for an evening to "chillax" (as my kids like to call it)with my sister. Call it bonding time or call it a getaway, either way we get to hang out with each other and stay overnight in a hotel and probably eat food - who could go wrong with that!

Obliging Mom, Day 133

In addition to the promise to help clean the house, along with a box decaf K-Cups for my Keurig Coffee Maker, my son allowed me to photograph him on Mother's Day. Although I felt his coloring was a little off (very pale), all in all, I think it turned out okay and it only involved 4.73 minutes of his time.

My daughter, who very willingly allows me to photograph her anytime I want to, was knee deep in homework that evening. I just don't want anyone to think I am neglecting my other child.

This little "village" looking area is actually Boat House Row in Philadelphia. I cannot believe this came out as clear as it did as we are driving at about
45-50 mph.

Ruby Reads/Dad Vail Regatta, Days 128 and 129

My husband and I went to our first Dad Vail Regatta today. It was unbelievably exciting. You could just feel the excitement in the air and the weather was also perfect - thank goodness our run on rain had ended yesterday.






She may still be doing her business all over the kitchen floor, but Ruby does enjoy her daily newspaper!

Eerie, Mysterious Light, Day 127

I walked into my living room this evening about 6 PM and a strange and mysterious light was coming through the window. Could it possibly be.....? I grabbed my camera for I feared the opportunity to photograph it would elude me...

It is still raining, and now thundering and lightning too, and it will rain tomorrow also. Hence, as promised, another wet flower photo.

It's Been Raining For Four Days, Day 125

I am definitely not lacking in the wet flower department here..... It is supposed to rain up until (and possibly including) Mother's Day. Be prepared for photos of other wet things until the sun reappears!

UPDATE: Just now, on our local news, they said this is day 7 of the rain - what rock was I living under for the first three days?

This swing was once the center of activity in our backyard - it now stands idle all of the time. We hope to find a new home for this swingset soon.....

All Tuckered Out, Day 122

I managed to capture a moment when our fingers, toes, clothing, hands, and shoes weren't being attacked by this almost 5 pound ball of fur. She was actually just taking a few minute siesta, gearing up for the next set of digits and articles of clothing she had to conquer!

Another Color of Spring, Day 121

My neighbor has a beautiful purplish azalea bush on her front lawn. It always blooms on its own time, never when all of our pink and white azaleas are blooming - it usually blooms after the others but for some reason this year it has bloomed before. So, I used it for a photo op.
