Old Steeple, Day 201

Technically, I am 4 minutes late getting my photo of the day in today. But, here it is just the same. I'll just have to get another one in later today.

Here is a really, really old church steeple. This church was built in 1858 and then disassembled and moved to its current location in Wilmington, DE. It was so old and so beautiful on the inside too.

My niece was married in this church on Sunday.

UPDATE: Here is a bit of the history of why the church was moved for those that are wondering. Thanks, Lucy, for asking the question.

I don't think I have ever seen stone laid up that high on a steeple before.

Love the angle of the shot! I'm sure it's a beautiful structure!

You could have changed the posting options on your entry to make it in before midnight. ;)

Such precision with timing!

And the effort involved in moving a whole Church. But why did they do it?

Keeping to the promise to self: When arriving late to comment, do not read previous comments. That way, MY comment will be fresh and clean without any previous remarks coloring my vision of this photo. :D

That said: I like the architecture here, with it looking like it is climbing clear up to heaven. Then, since the eye is drawn upward, that sky is amazing! The only problem I have is that the perspective of the shot makes me dizzy and I'm not easily made dizzy.

Now, I can read the other comments.

Love this steeple, and I love the angle you took the photo at! The old stone is remarkable, one of my favorite types of architecture.

I'm loving the angles you are getting on your photos, and the sky is just gorgeous in this one!

P.S. I'm always about 2 weeks late with my pictures. :)
