What A Difference A Year Makes/Consolation Prize, Day 197 and 198

I've known this little guy ever since he was born. He turned 13 years old yesterday and I had just been looking at a photo I took of him back in February 2008. I then compared it to the one I took of him two days ago - how much he has changed!!!

The other photo is a prize that the losing softball team gets every year at our annual family picnic. Please note that missing talon - which makes this "prize" even more desirable. Anyway, my son was on the losing team. Thankfully, it is the captain of the team that must live with this statue in his home for the next year.

I just love how teenagers grow into themselves emotionallly and physically. Your son has really grown from boy into young man in just one year. I was surprised to find that there were more huge changes between the age of 15 and 16 - my son changed in looks again during that time.

Hmmm, finding space on the mantlepiece for this trophy...

He's grown up in such a short time! But he's a cute boy and I'm sure your're very proud of him!!

The trophy is a bit strange for my taste.

Interesting how children are changing fast into a teenager in such a short time.

I´m looking forward to the changing of my boys!

Don´t know what I should think about this trophy

Great photos of your son. He looks very comfortable in front of the camera. My son hates getting his picture taken!!

Looks like you caught him amidst growing into an adult! When I used to have my own classes at the middle school, I'd always take a picture of them on the first day of school and then another one at the end. They even couldn't believe how much they had changed! We would then put both pictures on a page for their scrapbooks.
